Mortgage lenders often require a copy of your Tax Year Overview alongside your SA302s. These documents confirm your declared income and show whether HMRC agrees with the figures submitted through your tax return.
This guide walks you through downloading your Tax Year Overview quickly and easily.
Start by logging into your online HMRC account via the Government Gateway. You'll need your user ID and password.
Once logged in, go to your Self Assessment section. If you are registered for Self Assessment, this option will appear on your account homepage.
Within the Self Assessment area, select “More details about your Self Assessment.”. This will show you your submitted tax returns and other options. From here, click"Continue to your SA302"
Once downloaded, save a copy to your files. Mortgage lenders may request both your SA302 and Tax Year Overview as part of verifying your income.
THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE SECURING OTHER DEBTS AGAINST YOUR HOME.
YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.
IMPORTANT: With investments, your capital is at risk. Pensions and investments can go down in value as well as up, so you could get back less than you invest.
